THE AFRICAN FEMININE CONCEPT: A PATHWAY TO HEALTHY FAMILY LIFE - By Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue

Image
‎ ‎smnifeanyi@gmail.com ‎ ‎In a time when global ideologies increasingly blur the lines of identity and tradition, the African family finds itself at a crossroads. One voice calls for a complete dismantling of inherited gender roles in pursuit of equality. Another, often softer, yet rooted deeply in wisdom, calls for the preservation of balance, dignity, and harmony as defined by our cultural foundations. ‎ ‎As an advocate for the African cultural renaissance, I believe it is time to reclaim and project the African feminine concept — not as subjugation or subservience, but as the indispensable soul of family life, and by extension, a stable society. ‎ ‎ *THE SACRED STRENGTH OF THE AFRICAN WOMAN*  ‎ ‎In the African worldview, the woman is not a lesser being, nor is she a replica of the man. She is a nurturer, a stabilizer, and the silent force that holds the home together. Her strength is not loud, but it is lasting. It is the strength of creation, preservation, and restorati...

‎A CALL TO CONSCIENCE: TAKING BACK ENUGWU-AGIDI WITH DIGNITY AND PURPOSE - ‎‎By Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue

Image
‎ ‎My dear brothers and sisters of Enugwu-Agidi, great sons and daughters of our proud town, both at home and in the diaspora, today, I am constrained to write to you not to entertain you or to bore you with long grammar, but to sound a clarion call. A call to duty. A call to truth. A call to restore the pride of our Enugwu-Agidi. Enugwu-Agidi, a town once peaceful and purposeful. ‎ ‎Over the past few years, our beloved Enugwu-Agidi has been dragged through the mud by a few political jobbers, individuals who have taken advantage of our unwavering love for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to cover their selfish and destructive actions. These are not leaders. These are opportunists! ‎ ‎Many of us still remember the leaked audio conversation between the former mayor and the current President General (PG) of the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU), where they conspired to illegally remove our respected traditional Prime Minister, Chief Dr. Sir Osita Anameze (Onowu). ‎...

‎A GLORIOUS TRIBUTE TO ICHIE MICHAEL EKESI (OZO CHIBULUZO) ‎‎ By Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue

Image
‎ ‎With a heart full of sorrow yet deeply grateful to the Almighty for the gift of a long, impactful life, I offer this tribute to a man whose legacy stands tall like the ancient iroko, Ichie Michael Ekesi (Ozo Chibuluzo). ‎ ‎The news of his passage to eternity came as a thunderclap. We had earnestly looked forward to celebrating his 100th birthday in January 2026, a rare milestone that few achieve. But God, in His sovereign wisdom, decided that Ichie had completed his course. The heavens have surely gained a saint. ‎ ‎Ichie Michael Ekesi was not merely an elder by age, but a towering figure of wisdom, humility, and unwavering devotion to both faith and culture. Born and bred in the heart of Enugwu-Agidi, he rose to become one of the most respected figures in the Church, the community, and the traditional institution. ‎ ‎As a young boy growing up in Enugwu-Agidi, I admired him from a distance, his quiet strength, his gentle speech, and his active presence in St. John’s Catholic C...

‎A NATION'S STRENGTH LIES IN ITS HONOUR FOR JUSTICE AND SACRED AFRICAN TRADITION OF RESPECTING ELDERS (part 2) ‎ ‎By Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue

Image
‎Respect for elders is not a formality in African culture, it is sacred. It is the foundation of our value system and social order. Our elders embody memory, wisdom, and moral authority. When they speak, a nation must listen, not out of obligation, but out of reverence for the paths they have walked and the sacrifices they have made. ‎ ‎In that spirit, Nigeria once stood before a rare and powerful moment, a moment when two of its most revered elder statesmen, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi and Professor Ben Nwabueze, rose in the twilight of their lives to make a final plea to the conscience of the state. Their appeal was not for power or privilege; it was for peace, mercy, and national healing through the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. ‎ ‎THE FINAL PLEA OF NIGERIA'S ELDER STATEMEN ‎ ‎Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, who was 93 years old at the time, was a titan of Nigeria’s First Republic and the country’s first Minister of Aviation. A man who had walked with Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (Owelle Onits...

A NATION’S INTEGRITY LIES IN ITS HONOUR FOR JUSTICE AND ELDERS By Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue

Image
‎anyimega65@gmail.com ‎ ‎On November 19, 2021, a group of Nigeria’s most revered elder statesmen walked into Aso Rock with one thing on their hearts,  peace. ‎ ‎They did not come with threats. ‎They did not come with protest. ‎They came with wisdom, humility, and hope. ‎ ‎At the helm of that historic delegation was Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, a towering nationalist and one of the last surviving patriots of Nigeria’s First Republic. At over 90 years of age, his steps were slow, but his voice was strong, strengthened by decades of service to a nation he loved, even when the nation did not always love him back. ‎ ‎Their mission was simple but profound: to plead for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, not through the barrel of a gun or in defiance of law, but through the sacred African principle of elder intervention, the wisdom of age prevailing where legal technicalities fail. ‎ ‎With Chief Amaechi were other dignified sons of Nigeria: ‎ ‎Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, forme...

‎PRESERVING THE DIGNITY OF TRADITIONAL INSTITUTION IN ANAMBRA STATE ‎‎ By Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue

Image
‎ ‎Across the world, traditional institutions remain sacred symbols of cultural identity, ancestral heritage, and social harmony. In Igbo land, and particularly in Anambra State, the revered office of the traditional ruler; Igwe, Obi, or Eze, occupies a position of immense dignity and historical importance. These royal fathers are not just figureheads; they are custodians of our customs, guardians of communal values, and moral compasses for our people. ‎ ‎The traditional stool is more than an ornament of culture, it is the soul of the community. Rooted in ancestral wisdom and sustained by the people’s trust, the traditional ruler serves as a stabilizing force in both peaceful and turbulent times. ‎ ‎However, recent developments in our dear Anambra State, particularly the enactment of the Homeland Security Law and the establishment of the Udo Ga Achi security outfit, have introduced complex dynamics that require urgent and honest discourse. ‎ ‎While the Homeland Law is commendable...

*ENUGWU-AGIDI NEW YAM FEASTIVAL* ‎‎ *Awam Ji Okpalariam; A Symbol Of Unity, Culture And Royal Leadership*

Image
‎ ‎ ‎As the famous community of Enugwu-Agidi in Umunri Ancient Kingdom prepares for the 2025 New Yam Festival (Awam Ji Okpalariam) on Saturday, 27th September 2025, attention turns to the palace of a monarch whose reign has come to symbolize peace, unity, and cultural renaissance, His Royal Highness, Igwe Michael Chidozie Okekeuche Okpalariam III, the Okpalariam of Enugwu-Agidi. ‎ ‎Under the leadership of HRH Okpalariam III, Enugwu-Agidi has experienced a renewed sense of identity and communal pride, rooted in the rich traditions of the Umunri dynasty,  regarded by many as the cradle of Igbo civilization. The upcoming Awam Ji celebration is more than a cultural festival; it is a reaffirmation of unity, ancestry, and vision, all championed by a king who understands the power of culture in nation-building. ‎ ‎The festival will bring together the leadership of the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU), the Igwe-in-Council, Council of Chiefs, community stakeholders, tradition...

ORSUMOGHU NOW DESOLATE: A KING IN EXILE, A TOWN IN PAIN ‎‎By Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue

Image
‎ ‎(High Chief Akajiofor/ Ichie Onyima) ‎ ‎On Friday, 12th September 2025, I attended a most unusual celebration, the New Yam Festival of Orsumoghu kingdom. It took place not in the ancestral square of the town, but in a quiet residential compound in Lokogoma, Abuja. ‎ ‎I was invited by my friend and fellow custodian of culture, Chief James Ntom Ifenatuora (Ichie Omekannaya/ Ezeafojulu), a cabinet chief of the Orsumoghu royal stool. I assumed I was attending one of the many Eze Igbo cultural events we often see in the North. But what I witnessed was far more sobering. ‎ ‎This was no symbolic festival. This was the official, annual New Yam Festival of Orsumoghu town, performed in exile by His Royal Highness, Igwe Elochukwu Mbanefo, the Igwe Ozuruoha II of Orsumoghu. ‎ ‎And I ask today, as a son of Igbo land and as a custodian of ancestral tradition: ‎How did we get here? ‎ ‎ *A CULTURE FORCED INTO EXIL* ‎ ‎The Iri Ji festival is not merely a celebration of harvest. I...
